Bernhard Uehleke studied both medicine and physics at the university in Tübingen 1974-1982 and got his promotion in natural science with thesis in theoretical chemistry and his second promotion with thesis in medical biometrics.
He served as medical director in several pharmaceutical enterprises and finished his studies by correspondence in economics at the University of Hagen. Since 1989 he is involved in academic natural healing with herbal medicine, he was member of Commission E for herbal drugs at the Federal Office of drugs since 1991, and also at the Commission B8 for Balneology.
Prof. Uehleke’s career includes being an academic teacher and researcher in natural healing and in history of medicine at the medical faculties in Würzburg, Berlin, Zürich. He is founder, or he served as member of the Board, resp., of several scientific associations in the fields of pharmaceutical medicine, herbal medicine, hydrology, balneology, natural healing, German-based Kneipp-Therapy, monastery medicine and complementary medicine.
His insights and results were shared in many scientific publications, but also in textbooks, advisory books, interviews, and courses.
Natural Healing with a focus on herbal medicine and hydro-, balneotherapy with focus to very short cold stimulus water applications are his main areas of interest. The healthy benefits of cold water lead to an unspecific training of the stress system, which also “hardens” against mental stress, when applied on a regular basis.
The expertise of Prof. Dr. Dr. Uehleke perfectly matches with our focus on water: he teaches, trains and entertains groups with cold-water applications, supervises the scientific aspects of HydroHealth concepts and supports to combine elements of Traditional European Healing Methods with a contemporary medical fasting method that was introduced by himself.
